Jackson Hole, Wy.
Having recently traveled to Jackson Hole I have some new material to post. Last year I posted a few shots from the Moose Wyoming Hootenanny, a weekly gathering of local musicians, storytellers, characters and whatever else may show up. Always festive and colorful, this time was no different. Adding to the experience, I attended with my Father and Brother. Within a few minutes the cowboy pictured arrived and I immediately thought, "what a great photo, a true cowboy and his 12 pack of Bud". I inquired about a photo and he replied "much obliged partner, I would be happy to". couldn't have written it better myself! At this point I swung around from my position, collected my gear and began to compose the picture. He eagerly struck a pose and proceeded to pull a can of ALPO from his back pocket. Placed on top of the 12 pack he proudly displayed is possessions. Not exactly what I was expecting but certainly adding to the already existing pageantry of this photo. After we "parted ways" I couldn't help but be reminded of the Willie Nelson song "Whiskey for my Men, beer for my horses"..Not long after the pictures were taken, our cowboy left and hopefully headed to feed and nourish his animals and not himself..
